4 million memory sticks sold worldwide...smartmedia is not even close... check out last monthe consumer reports... SONY is the one to watch and follow : > such as..MP3,CD Music, MPEG Video, Digital > Pictures..and...and....PC/MAc softwear programs..
: What media is used on the Diamond Rio MP3 player? Smartmedia. Smartmedia can be used like any ol' storage device. It doesn't have to store only pictures. My smartmedia reader just adds a drive letter and I can access it like any hard drive. : >In January...SONY will introduce to THE WORLD...a : > : >256MB MEMORY STICK..YES..two hundred and fiftysix MEGS!!! : CompactFlash Type II can use the IBM microdrive.. they have a 1 GB version. Top that Sony. : > All their 2001 computers with have a memoey stick drive! : > Ans soon...a memory stick personal walkman. : Good for them! I'm glad they're catching up! In 1998 I bought a device to read my smartmedia cards in any of my computers. : MemoryStick is too late to the party. I read recently that Toshiba released the Smartmedia specs FREE to any company. and I don't believe CompactFlash is owned by any one company either.
